Services Provided
Research indicates that it’s the early and intensive work with kids with autism that can have very favourable impact on the child's potentials and prognosis. Under our program, the concept building process begins with discrete trials imbedded within relevant interactive play. Programs and the type of play will evolve continuously according to the interests, strengths and the learning abilities of each child. Continuous social encouragement and play will promote emotional growth. At the same time, focus will be on the transfer and generalization of the skills so that the child can feel more confident with a number of workers and at multiple setups. New recommendation will be made every 2-4 weeks by evaluating the data, conducting session observations and meetings with the interventionist. The key care giver will play an important role in the initial individualization process of the child’s program. Parents will be provided with the same educational and training support as the BIs and will be encouraged to participate in the program implementation and supervision. They will be encouraged and directed towards the therapeutic/educational approaches and materials, which seem more specific and appropriate for their child’s needs. They will also be encouraged to connect with other affected families, for support and socialization purposes. Initially, it would help them connect for their own support, then to form play and sibling groups for their kids and eventually would help them becoming an active part of the extended autism and other relevant community programs.
